The Ninth Gate Official Trailer

Directed by Roman Polanski ( yea that guy who touched a 13 yr old or something like that )

Good movie. (peeped on netflix)

I was a little confused by the end of it all...but after reading up about it, it makes sense.

Depp plays a cool role, it is very subtle which is nice.

The action:time running of film ratio is not what I would have liked (meaning there wasn't quite enough action for me) but I supposed I'm being picky. The story was good and the mystery was amazing.

See it.

The 400 Blows (1959) - film

Direct by Francois Truffaut

You already know I did not see this in the theater.

Awesome movie ... basically one of those classics that you see and learn a LOT from. Anyone who is into the art of film making - see this fucking movie ... if you just wanna watch Bruce Willis pound everyone into the ground - maybe it's not for you.

127 HOURS - film

Direct by Danny Boyle

Saw it in theaters ... waste of money? almost.

I don't regret seeing it in theaters (as I DO regret seeing The Tourist in the theater) BUT it could have waited for DVD

I felt like everyone in the theater came because the guy cuts his arm off ... and really that was the only cool part. There is a moment when Franco gets philosophical and he's thinking about life - I liked that part - it was over after like 4 lines ...

Franco did a good job, the movie has amazing shots and a cool brutal scene... kind of boring at times tho.

The Tourist - film

Directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck

This guy really FUCKED UP by including the LONGEST NAME he could ever put in a movie credit.

Saw this movie in theaters and it was a total waste of money. Both Jolie and Depp just pretty much bored me.

I think this movie is best described as a chick flick that wanted to be a good action movie.

Boardwalk Empire - TV

Created by Scorsese

THIS SHOW IS AWESOME. Haldukken to the face.

It is HBO (I see it via my secret movie and show streaming website).

I like the gangster stuff, I like the business stuff, I like the time period - I can't wait for season 2

The Walking Dead - TV Trailer

This is a new TV show for AMC. It is based off the comic book by Robert Kirkman and the show is created by Frank Darabont.

I read 13 issues of the comic book (not even sure if a 14th issue exists ... a lot happens in one issue) THEN I saw the first 6 episodes of the the show. It is pretty good... a lot different from the comic (as usual) but it is still good ..... the only thing I hope they don't do TOO much is create situations that just waste time.

For example, in the show they encounter a gang that still lives in ATL. (this never happened in the comic) in that particular episode they have this encounter with the gang that just creates a sort of empty obstacle for them to over-come in order to get some weapons...

Shit like this-I hope that gang pops up again in another episode, otherwise I feel like it was a pointless distraction , the sole purpose of which would be to extend the show and get that commercial time right? I'm not into that.

Either way, I'm exited to see the show when it comes back on this year in Oct. (and if you haven't checked out the comic - you should - art work is amazing.)

Shutter - film

Directed by Masayuki Ochiai

ehhhh :/ saw it via netflix.

A good couple scares, not a bad idea ... too many climaxes (not sure if that is proper)

I.e. the movie seems to reach a CLIMAX !! ... then it continues , okkk ? THEN IT REACHES A CLIMAX!

This happens probably 5 maybe 6 times and by the 'actual' climax - it was lame.

I would see this if your bored and have time to waste, cuz there are a few nice things in it - for example the location is AWESOME, the shout outs to Japanese films is dope, and the cinematography was good too.

Un Prophète - FILM

Directed by - Jacques Audlard

THIS MOVIE WAS SICK. Saw it on Netflix ... it is long, but I couldn't walk away from the movie. I would watch it again for sure. Haldukken.

TV - 'DEXTER'

I peeped the first 4 seasons a WHILE back... this show actually opened my eyes to TV (cuz i kind of had a grudge against it for a while with all these reality shows coming out)

I just started Season 5 (could bare or manage to watch it as it was out on TV)

LOVING season 5! I supposed that may be biased because I am just so pumped watching Dexter again, but it is a damn good show.

By the way, this clip is the opening of each episode and it won an award.

'LOST' TV show

Yep I watched all six seasons of this... (a few months back actually) this show is EPIC. I will admit, the 4th and 5th season gets a little ... ehh ... (and i won't say anything about the final season) BUT this show is still AMAZING.

Lots of bible and religion references in the show - pretty dope.

Not a big fan of this trailer... but i suggest if you haven't seen this show - you should check it out.

BOOK TIME

Recently finished: Cloud Atlas

by David Mitchell

Book is fucking awesome. It follows the lives of people in different generations (eventually moving into the future) and each generation change, the book also changes genre, format, and dialect. For this reason, it is fucking amazing.

easily rose to the top of my list when it comes to best books. It is one of the few that I keep handy to check back for writing style and epic quotes.

If you read-you will want to read this. If you don't read-get your life together and read this (although it might be a hard one if you suck at reading)

Aries Spears on Def Jam

Seen this Def Jam DVD (apparently from '06) with Aries Spears, Kevin Hart and a few others guys ... pretty damn funny, especially Aries Spears.

shiver trailer HD BEST MOVIE QUALITY

Dircted by: Isidro Ortiz

Spanish movie - seen it on netflix - SICK .

This movie really had me almost screaming at the TV a few times (GET UPPPP !!!)

If your into action and horror - great film. slightly amateurish, but it gets a haldukken.

The King's Speech Movie Trailer Official (HD)

Saw it in theaters. Worth seeing in theaters? depends on you. The movie is based on a true story, and it certainly is a great story; however, it is more interesting that it is exciting-so know what your in for foo.

The movie was amazing from a film making point of view-shots were awesome (there is a steady-cam shot where the operator must have been walking backwards down the stairs... unless they used a jib, but either way-that is one example of a shot that impressed me.)

'Inception' Trailer 2 HD

Saw it three times in theaters, once on IMAX. Haters keep on hating - I loved it.

'True Grit' Trailer HD

DEFINITELY SAW IT IN THEATERS ! I saw the trailer when I went to see another movie - saw 'Joel & Ethan Coen' and knew I'd be seeing it in the theater. Haldukken.

BLACK SWAN - Official HD trailer

Saw it in theater ... awesome ! no more words on that. See it for sure, and if you already missed it in theaters then I feel sorry for you.

Realizations and shit

I enjoy being neat and tidy. This means I like for things to be in order, but I've fallen behind and now I'm stuck in one of those situations like a kid who can't swim cuz he's scared of the water but is scared of the water cuz he can't swim (namean?)

I think I'm just gonna blog what movies and media I'm tuning into now. It's easier and faster and it is actually more for me because it eliminates having to keep a notebook/log or anything else and I can check it anywhere (from my smart phone - holla!)

For example, the other day I saw a trailer for a film that looked awesome. I looked it up, and not long after checking it out I remembered that I had already seen the film-and it wasn't even that good. I could have re-wasted another 100min of my life.

This could be a nice excuse to justify being forgetful, OR it could be a great tool that allows my brain room to store other and more dire information right?

Of course, I hope this list might inspire others to check out (or avoid) some shit I've been looking at.
