From Paris with Love

Directed by Pierre Morel

Again - this movie I saw a week or so ago and I cannot remember anything specific to say about it.

Like RED - the action sequences were FUCKING AWESOME

I would see this movie - baby haldukken.

The plot is a baby corny - ohhhh your wife is a secret agent ! -_- classic ... and the dialogue (especially when the characters say things like 'typical french girl') is real corny sometimes. I was actually surprised to find out that the director is French, because the things the 'American' characters were saying seemed kind of silly - i guess the dialogue was so corny I assumed the movie was American based .. yet it was a French director.

John Travolta was pretty awesome regardless, and you should see this movie if you haven't already.

RED

Directed by Robert Schwentke

Based on a Graphic Novel by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner

This movie was fucking hilarious. I'm not going to lie, I have been busy lately and I wanted this movie weeks ago, so I can't really remember any specifics that I would want to mention in my notes about the film.

It is good ! you should see it ! haldukken !

My favorite character was the guy John Malkovich played - a super paranoid but amazing assassin.

Sometimes the relationship between Bruce Willis and that broad he liked was a little bit corny .. but the action sequences were fucking awesome and the comedy was pretty good too.

Epic Haldukken to your fuckin face.

Watched this flick a little randomly ... but it was awesome because i've recently been writing about stuff that is similar to ideas from this film.

The battle between religion and science was a tiny bit more dramatic than need be, the dialogue was corny here and there ... but i think that might have better reflected the time frame in which the film was set. Kind of hard to take matthew mcconaughey seriously after seeing tropic thunder, well maybe just in general.

The beginning I think stretched a little bit - but it was all worth it. There are a lot of sit-down conversations, so the younger/adhd crowd might have a hard time with this one ... but i liked a lot of the ideas that were floating around and i liked the comparison between religion and science.

Favorite character by far was the mysterious guy who funded Jodie Foster's project and lived in space (i wish i was him in real life).

If you haven't seen it - go see it. If you have - it was even better the second time around.

Stone

Directed by John Curran

ehhhhhhhhh no haldukken that's for sure.

Not a bad movie to see, so if you got free time during your lunch break then check it out.

I don't think Norton should have tried to play as a spanish person. This was kind of the same thing with Brooklyn's Finest - you got a white guy (Edward Norton) and you are trying to sell him as a Puerto Rican (or something - never was made real clear) and it just didn't work. I am the type of person who will read a book and then people are like - yea i liked that metaphor with the ocean as the location ! and i would be like ... didn't notice it, but i agree now that you bring it up.

My point is - i don't get what the purpose of him being spanish was? Maybe to be diverse? but if you want to be diverse, then why not hire a spanish actor? Norton trying to play a spanish thug took me out of the movie right away.

The character that Norton played was an interesting character, but I felt like sometimes he knew where he was coming from.. and sometimes he was just regurgitating lines. EXACT same goes for Di Niro ... actually I felt like Di Niro was just saying lines for the majority of the film.

There were way too many loop holes and the acting was not up to par. Good story, good characters, nice shots, interesting content ... just wasn't put together all so well - sorry guys, better luck next time.
